Phenolic resins are commonly used to make crushing wheels, but epoxy, alkyd, polyester, rubber and shellac can also be used.

The phenolic resin rod is not a resole resin, abrasives factory, but a thermoplastic phenolic resin with a linear structure. Adding a small amount of polyvinyl butyral for adjustment can increase the brittleness and water absorption of the phenolic resin and reduce the molding tension of the molding material.

If no stabilizer is added, it remains thermoplastic after processing. Therefore, its behavior is often accustomed to artificially controlling its thermoplastic or thermoset properties to change the hardness and thermal composition of the bonded abrasive or rough improvement component to obtain cured products of different quality.
